If you were visited by your older self and she could give you guidance on your future, would you listen?<\/i><\/p>\n

A talented artist, seventeen year-old Stacy, is visited on a regular basis by Older Me, her future self, who tries to steer her toward a better future without revealing the outcome of the events about to happen around her. Unfairly bullied by her former middle school friends, Stacy finds herself a constant target plagued by nasty texts, embarrassing moments, and physical abuse. Rather than receiving help, Stacey is accused of doing something to encourage all the unwanted attention.<\/p>\n

Although Older Me provides some solace, Stacy is still left to make her own choices, not all of them ideal. As a result, she puts herself closer to her attackers rather than farther away. The bright spot in her world is her best friend (and secret love), Mark, who is also a talented artist and part of the \u2018IN\u2019 crowd. His friendship with her tormentors makes him myopic to what is happening to Stacy. As he tries to help her, he unknowingly makes the situation worse.<\/p>\n

Powerfully written, compelling to read, and ultimately triumphant, this book will affect you. There were times when I had to put the book down for a minute to catch my breath and recover, yet I finished reading it in two sittings.<\/p>\n

The magical realism premise provides the catalyst for the main character\u2019s perceived \u201cissues\u201d, and gives us a unique story framework and an unexpected ending twist.<\/p>\n

This book will easily be one of the best YA books you read this year.<\/p>\n
